Personal Transformation, Spiritual Reasons behind Burnout and The Waves of Burnout
Insights and Reflections July 2022 Week 3
Hi, welcome back to the “Weekly Reflections” section inside the Conquering Burnout Newsletter.
"Insights and Reflections" is a place where I'm sharing my recent insights and reflections about life, nutrition, wellness and well-being, but mostly about my burnout journey.
My goal with this with section of the Conquering Burnout Newsletter is to share valuable information and insights that I found useful and might help you in your own life and your own burnout journey.
Let’s begin: here are my three insights and reflections from past week.
Personal Transformation takes Time
We can't change overnight. Change requires daily effort, commitment and time: weeks, months, sometimes even years.
And the best way to change - alongside consistent effort and commitment - is letting go of the ego.
Let go of the ego and open the door to transformation!
Inspiration: book and movie 7 Years in Tibet
"Burnout and depression occur when we work against ourselves and our True Self for too long."
Sometimes the reason for burnout and other mental health problems is found in the spiritual realm.
Energy in the body is not created only through proper nutrition and lifestyle.
There's also a different kind of energy, capital 'E' Energy, which can’t be seen and can’t be measured, but it is extremely important for us and our well-being.
This Energy is created when we do things that make us happy, when we engage in things for which we feel a great sense of passion, purpose and mission and when we live a life that is meant for us.
But when we work against ourselves and our True Self for too long, problems such as depression and burnout can occur.
Many healers and "spiritual" leaders believe that man is a spiritual, energetic and physical being, and that an imbalance between these levels can have consequences on physical and mental health.
That's why it’s important to focus on our "Spiritual Fitness".
Improve your Energy by cultivating joy, happiness, good and right vibrations and frequency, harness the power of passion, purpose and mission for your life, be part of a community of like minded people and establish and strengthen the spiritual connection to “higher power”.
The Waves of Burnout
Over time I learned that if you’re struggling with and suffering from burnout, the struggles and malaise come in waves.
There are also a lot of ups and downs, which can sometimes be quite extreme — and that can be quite frustrating and even daunting.
That’s why burnout feels like being on a rollercoaster.
You’re enjoying a beautiful view, thrill and excitement of being at the top of the mountain which is followed by realization that you’re in the void where you don’t have anything underneath you and that you’re speeding and accelerate towards the ground unsure whether you’ll be able to slow down and stop or hit the ground and shattered.
Just as you think you’re better, the symptoms get worse and hit you down — both physically, emotionally and mentally. But when you feel like you’re at the bottom and you feel like things will never get better and that you might not recover and be healthy again, you’re about to make a breakthrough.
So we need to be patient and compassionate with ourselves. We need to remind ourselves that this wavering of ups and down is normal and that it’s all part of the process.
Things will get better, we just have to be patient and persistent!
That’s it for this week’s “Weekly Insights” , I hope you found it interesting and insightful!
See you again very soon!
